Earlier this year, the cinematic video created for Son Roberts” original tune “Tied Up in a Song” won GOLD at the One Earth Awards. Much gratitude to director @MarkPragai and his incredibly talented Montreal crew for creating this amazing motion picture. And kudos to my musical collaborator, @RalphMacDonald for his help in arranging and producing this tune. The song was written by Son in 2019 (the Before Times) who shared his demo with Ralph for his thoughts. Ralph later assembled a great rhythm section, featuring Canadian country music star @SeanBurns on bass and we all gathered in Toronto to lay it down. As for the video, Son and Mark know each other through Son’s oldest friend, and Mark’s uncle, Frank Pragai. Mark quickly embraced the poignancy in the autobiographical song and began work on story boards, set development and crew assembly. Over two predictably frigid nights in Montreal’s West Island, Son, Mark, and his crew of 12 inspired and incredible pros shot the video. The result has been an unequivocal success winning on-going air-play, fan praise and multiple awards.
